As I and my group members discussed briefly in our first session together. We realized that being literate has a different meaning in many aspects of life. As we further got into conversation, and as I read the readings, I began to wonder does being literate mean different things in different backgrounds, cultures, classes?
For example, their may be students in our classes that seem to be lagging academically, however they are literate in different non-academic aspects of life in order for them to survive.
